So I’m back and in utter amazement at the work God is doing and has done.
I’m so glad to be a part of the story he is writing for our world.
I wanted to encourage you quickly to take a look around you.
On this journey of life often times we are continually looking at the ground in front of us. We get worried about the next steps we take and can’t help be to look down.
I realized this while hiking a couple weeks ago.
As I hiked up a trail in northern arizona I was so focused on my next steps that twenty minutes in I looked up and realized what I had been missing. A beautiful, mountain filled, and lush green landscape had been in front of me the whole time. I was so busy worried about my next steps that I had been missing the joy that was hiking.
This was also true as I neared my destination. I was looking down and missed the waterfall and gorgeous creek that I was hiking towards. Just as I was getting tired and wondering if it was worth it I looked up and realized that I could have been looking at it the whole time.
This is so true in our lives. We are so worried about the next things that we need to do in order to stay in God’s will that we forget about the big picture. We forget about the destination we are headed towards that God promises is way more important than the steps. We forget what all the hard work is for because we are too busy staring at the effort the next step will take.
Look up for once and be a part of God’s bigger plan, he will guide your steps.
